When Moses (29) met Christelle (25), everything felt right. He shot his shot and luckily, Christelle felt the same way about him.

How they met:

The couple met in June 2018 through Christelle’s colleague, who also happened to be Moses’ friend. Moses had told the mutual friend of his interest and asked if they could get Christelle’s number on his behalf.

Christelle was shocked at first when the mutual friend told her Moses had asked for her number, but then she later gave the mutual friend the go-ahead to share her number with Moses. Later that night Moses called Christelle and introduced himself, and further wished her a goodnight.

They went out for lunch one Sunday afternoon and after lunch, Moses told Christelle of his intention. “He actually said he wanted us to be in a relationship and wanted me to respond that very same time. I’m a very shy person and I couldn’t respond. So, he started calling me “baby,” Christelle giggled as she told of how their relationship started.

Challenges:

Christelle said lobola was paid in December 2019 and their wedding was meant to take place five months after that, but unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic hit and they had to postpone their wedding. “It wasn’t easy just waiting and not knowing when we were going to have our wedding,” she said.
