Here’s some of our favourite Mzansi queens and the things we love about them:

Harriet Khoza

The matriarch of the Khoza family and has always done everything in the best interest of her family. We have seen her evolve so much over the years, spear-heading the family business and doing the most! She’s a woman who doesn’t falter, she goes after what she wants head on.

The worst thing would be to underestimate this queen because of her designer wear and fancy car. She holds a gun like she born for it! She is also a wonderful mother and has a huge ability to see past people and their fake persona. This has saved her children plenty times from making horrible decisions. She’s the queen of intuition, the queen of class, the queen of all mothers, she is THE Queen.

Mkabayi Zungu

With her brother, Sengwayo away recovering from the shocking loss of his daughter, Mkabayi has had to step up as the head of her family. Never one to shy away from responsibility, a challenge or war, it is a position she has stepped up to with pride.

In just a short time she has managed to run the family business efficiently, get Melusi's life in order, protect Jabu and Ntwenhle's child from the evil new Bhubesini Chief and deal with Thokozani's crush on former enemy, Qaphela. She has transformed from the Zungu's weapon in war over the years to also becoming a mother to her brother's children. Even if you may not always agree with her methods, she truly is an Imbokodo!

Mam’Sonto Molefe

Mam’Sonto runs these Gomora streets like a pro! She sits right there at the top of a business known to be dominated by men and no one dares to double-cross her! She’s a tough cookie, but beneath all this is a soft loving mother, who would do anything for her family.

Not only does she care about her family, we’ve also seen her use her criminal ways for the good of the community. With just a quick intervention, she solved the chaos at Gomora High School, and that’s why she’s respected in Gomora.

Vuyiswa Maake

She is an honest and outstanding cop and over the years we have seen her overcome and shine in the man’s world of police duty. Her investigative skills are top notch! We have seen her become a mother to many over the years, she supported Akhona after her mother’s death, was there for Amo during Jerry Maake’s cancer scare. She also took Thato in and remains to treat him like family. She’s strong yet vulnerable and that’s why she’s one of our leading ladies!
