Alice (29) had had her fair share of heartache in her previous relationships, and was literally on the verge of giving up on love when she met Bongani (30).   

How they met:

However, something told her to give it one last shot profile herself in one of the local lifestyle and entertainment magazines. On her profile, she asked God-fearing guys on her age to contact her. When Bongani came across it, he immediately thought to himself, “I’m that man!” and contacted her via WhatsApp.

“I got quite a number of calls and text messages from guys responding to my profile. To be quite honest, I wasn’t interested in Bongani at first, but there was this particular one I liked,” Alice explained.

Elaborating, she said Bongani kept pursuing her. “He asked that we meet and on the day we met, I didn’t quite find him to be my type of guy. Surprisingly, the things he said made a lot of sense to me,” she said.

Challenges:

Alice said Bongani had already introduced her to his family in both Mulbarton and in Soweto. Then all of a sudden, some girl arrived at his family home in Soweto, saying she was his girlfriend and he had actually promised to marry her.

Bongani admitted to dating the girls and actually writing a letter to her family asking for her hand in marriage. He said this was when he and Alice were in a long distance relationship. Luckily, the misunderstanding was sorted and they have been happy since then.
