We’ve witnessed many amazing and unforgettable moments over the last 10 years on Mzansi Magic that have left us overjoyed, sad, shocked and everything in between. Now we take a look at some of them as we celebrate the journeyΒ and gear up for more greatness to come.

Sbu and Thandeka's undying love

Thandeka crossing over to the other side to make contact with an almost dead Sbu, is a moment that cements the deep love that this couple shared and will forever be entrenched in Mzansi hearts and minds.

Khaya Mthethwa winning the hearts of South Africans

Mzansi Magic has over the years changed the lives of many people and one of them is Idols season 8 winner, Khaya Mthethwa. Who could forget how South Africans fell in love with the Durban-born singer making him the first black person to win the title? It was truly an unforgettable time! Mthethwa went on to be a household name and has scooped multiple awards along the way!

The crowning of Zozibini Tunzi

How can we ever forget how the country came to a stand-still when the gorgeous Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss SA 2019 and left us all wanting to hear any and everything that she had to say. She went on to inspire many young girls who look like her, showed them that anything is possible and set a littleΒ reminder to always take up space. Tunzi went on to win the title of Miss Universe and a great deal of pride covered the whole country.Β

From Sandton to Gomora

Thathi was never prepared for what befell her when her husband, Mbongeni was shot dead in a hijacking gone wrong. Having lost everything and swimming in debt, she and her children had no choice but to return home to her mom’s house. Adjusting to their new lifestyle was difficult at first.

A father and daughter bond

Thandeka was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and also a tough cookie when she needed to be. Being the Umkhovu whisperer is hands down one of her most epic moments. Who could forget the fear but also the strength she showed in controlling the man who was both her father and a dangerous zombie to save her brothers and sisters.

Thuso Mbedu two time Emmy nominee for role as Winnie in Isi’thunzi.

Thuso began her journey with Is’thunzi when it made a debut back in October 2016. In the series she plays Winnie, a sassy go-getter who dreams of marrying a rich and famous rugby player only to have her dreams dashed when she is exiled to go live with her strict aunt in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. Mzansi magic has continued to open up the industry, and is the home to many trailblazers who have grown immensely in the local and international space. Having a two-time Emmy nominee under the Isi’thunzi umbrella will always be an achievement that Mzansi Magic is proud to be affiliated with.

The Queen went from Telenovela to movie

As if The Queen hasn’t already won the innovation award for the first Β crossover in Mzansi, it also became the first to give us an one hour special season finale. This Season finale was an entire movie, with producer Shona Ferguson’s last appearance as Jerry Maake. The emotional and jampacked episode sent viewers into a frenzy and before long the show’s official hashtag was trending all through the night and into the next morning. Produced by Phaku Makwarela the season finale was filled with choppers, guns and heart -warming scenes. Famed actor Rapulana Seiphemo also won Mzansi’s heart as he made an explosive entrance.

The DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards

Awards for all your faves in the entertainment industry, led by you! Presented by DStv, the awards honour the year's biggest achievements in television, radio, music, sports, and comedy. We’ve watched countless jaw-on-the-floor moments; from Sindi Dlathu singing The River’s theme song, toΒ honouring the amazing Dr Rebecca Malope. There were also plenty, FIRE performances we’ll never forget, inspiringΒ and funny speeches and of course, all the glamour!

Thathi gets Mam’Sonto arrested - GomoraΒ 

Nobody was ever ready for when Mam’Sonto’s β€œgolden child,” Thathi had her arrested for the hijacking which led to her husband’s death. One moment, Mam’Sonto thought all was hunky dory between her and Thathi, next thing Detective Kolisi and her team were rounding her upΒ at the tavern, in full view of all her customers!
