Following a series of explosive performances by Team Busiswa, Kelly and Bucie last week, our male choirmasters finally got the opportunity to hit the Clash of the Choirs stage. And what a show it was!

Before the battle ensued, hip hop star Riky Rick and house crooner Zano, kicked things off with a memorable performance of their hit collabo “Sondela” - that had our judges on their feet. Riky Rick was sure to pay particular attention to gospel icon Dr Rebecca Malope, who seemed to enjoy every minute of being serenaded. Of course Twitter lapped up every moment of it.

Team Penny Penny was first to hit the stage and made Limpopo proud with their rendition of Kelly Khumalo’s “Asine”.

This is an amazing feat, considering how just a couple of days before their big stage debut, Team Penny Penny had to contend with the news that someone in the camp (Beauty, to be specific) had abandoned ship.

Team JR worked extra hard in rehearsal and as such, managed to pull off a stunning performance that had Anele, Zwai and Rebecca singing their praises. Twitter loved their rendition of choirmaster Penny Penny’s “Shichangani”

iFani’s “Ingoma Ezimnandi” got the Team Sfiso treatment – and what a marvel it was.

iFani and his team of Western Cape talent then closed things off with Bucie’s “Easy to Love”. The choir’s inspired performance subsequently earned them the coveted Elimination Free Pass.

Western Cape, stand up!
