Mzansi is on #Lockdown, the perfect time to stay home and catch up on some of your favourite shows. Here’s five reasons why you should stay home, stay safe and watch The River.
3.The River S1_Showpage Billboard 1600 x 640

1. Double the episodes:

With double the episodes every day, you have no reason to miss out on your favs on The River. This means you get a whole hour of all the drama and intrigue. How awesome is that!?

2. The multi-awards in the bag:

The River did it again this year, bagging 10 awards at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). From Best Telenovela, to Best Actress in a Telenovela and Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela. It walked away with 11 awards last year. Let’s not forget that International Emmy nomination for Best Telenovela! Yep, it’s THAT good!

3. The all-star cast:

With industry heavyweights, the likes of Sindi Dlathu (Lindiwe Dlamini) to Hlomla Dandala (Zweli Dikana), Lawrence Maleka (Zolani) and Presley Chweneyagae (Cobra), you are definitely bound to be kept glued to your seats. The talent speaks for itself!

4. The drama/plot twists:

Just when you think the storyline is headed one direction, BOOM, there’s a new plot twist! I mean, did you see how one moment Lindiwe was filing for a divorce, the next moment things changed quickly when she found out what Sheree has been up to? Lindiwe has been feeling the heat from Walter and the residents of Refilwe about the minning rights. There's so much drama there, one wonders how it will end.

5. The contrast between the Dikana's and Mokoena's:

We see life through the Dikana and Mokoena families and how their worlds collide after the discovery of a multi-million Rand diamond. After everything that's happened between the two familes so far, who would have thought Tumi would be currently living under Lindiwe's roof? The same Lindiwe who's responsible for her father's death!? Tjo!
