This season of Big Brother Mzansi has delivered a nomination process unlike any other, with twists, surprises, and shifting power dynamics constantly redefining the game.

Week after week, housemates have had to adapt to new rules, unexpected protections, and dramatic reveals that proved safety in the house is never guaranteed.

The season opened with heightened tension as Biggie reintroduced fake nominations, a well-known Big Brother Mzansi twist that quickly put housemates on edge. While viewers at home were fully aware of the twist, more than half of the housemates believed their place in the competition was already at risk. After securing Head of House earlier that evening, Ofentse was granted safety during the fake nomination session.

When the real game kicked in the following week, housemates faced the season’s first official diary room nominations, which came with a twist: reverse nominations. Instead of naming who they wanted to be evicted, they had to choose the housemates they wanted to save from eviction. That week, Dube claimed immunity after winning Head of House, securing his safety while the others nervously awaited their fate on Sunday.

A new week landed and the pressure intensified soon after when nominations placed ten housemates in danger at once, pushing tensions in the house to a boiling point. That week, Supreme HoH Tumi the Barber secured immunity, while Buhle B joined him as Head of House guest and benefited from the accompanying safety privileges.

Bravo B and Kokii were also shielded from nomination following a Sunday twist in which former HoH Dube saved them, making both untouchable for the week. Amid the shifting protections, Tumi the Barber delivered the ultimate blow by issuing a killer nomination to Ramona, automatically placing her on the chopping block.

Biggie then raised the emotional stakes by introducing face-to-face nominations. Instead of the privacy of the diary room, housemates were required to nominate two fellow housemates openly while explaining their reasons in front of everyone. The format exposed underlying tensions, fractured alliances, and unspoken frustrations, transforming nominations into deeply personal confrontations that reshaped relationships inside the house.

The unpredictability continued during live nominations when a new twist arrived in the form of a nomination wheel. HoH Mmeli spun the wheel and the outcome stunned everyone when it declared every housemate eligible for eviction, apart from HoH Mmeli.

Nominations returned to the diary room format in the following week, but King Wanda gained immunity through his newly earned HoH title, removing him from danger.

The twists kept coming when Ashay won the HoH challenge last week, securing his own immunity while Biggie reintroduced the Untouchables Pick. Ashay selected The Don for protection, granting him safety for the week. While Ashay and The Don were safe, face-to-face nominations eventually made their return, bringing with them the tension and honesty that had already proven to shake the house.

Across the season, nominations have evolved from psychological mind games to public confrontations and unpredictable twists, turning each week into a fresh test of loyalty and resilience. The Bazozwa season has made one thing clear: in this house, nominations are not just a weekly routine but the driving force behind the drama, constantly reshaping the game and keeping both housemates and viewers guessing.
