Live show 4: Dene Jones and Mashel say goodbye – BBMzansi

News01 February 2026
Two housemates faced eviction, one regretting they hadn't locked lips with anyone else.
Mashel and Dene

The fourth Sunday live show on Big Brother Mzansi delivered all the drama, as host Smash Afrika’s probing questions kept the housemates on edge, each hoping they would not be next in the firing line. Ahead of the evictions, he crossed over to the house to catch up with the housemates, reflecting on the week.

Tension peaked when he put Tumi the Barber on the spot, highlighting the house’s recent setbacks under his leadership, from losing the wager and facing punishment to being the first Head of House (HoH) to be removed from the loft. 😮 Tumi defended himself, insisting the outcomes were not entirely his responsibility, and explained that housemates had made their own choices and had been openly defiant.

Who was evicted?
Mashel became the third housemate to leave the house this season. Dene Jones followed as the fourth, exiting with a mix of shock and regrets over missed opportunities.

Watch their journeys

What did they have to say to Smash Afrika?
Mashel reflected on his eviction, saying it came as no surprise since that is how the public voted, adding that this is just another chapter in his journey.

Dene Jones admitted her eviction was shocking. While she may have seen it coming to some extent, she felt there was still so much she wanted to accomplish in the house. "I still had to kiss someone," she lamented in jest. 😗

Their departures left a visible impact, with close friends Ilano and Didi breaking down in tears.

Who left the house before them?
Last week, Lawredo and Ofentse became the first housemates to exit the season. Their departures sent shockwaves through both the house and viewers across South Africa.

How many housemates remain?
Only 18 housemates remain in the house, all vying for the ultimate prize of R2 million. The competition is heating up as each week brings new challenges, twists, and evictions that could change the game entirely.

How did Mzansi vote?
This week’s votes kept the house on edge. Fans rallied to save their favourites, but Mashel and Dene Jones ended up at the bottom, teetering on the eviction line. Ilano narrowly avoided the chop, coming in third and escaping the dreaded exit by the skin of his teeth.
