Mzansi Magic is pulling the curtain on Mzansi’s reality with two new shows premiering this November. Being a Xaba premieres on Sunday, 23 November at 19:00 with Nami Ngikhona starting on 16 November at 19:30.

Here’s what you can expect from the shows.

Being a Xaba – Brand New – from Sundays 23 November at 19:00

The Xaba Family joins the Mzansi Magic Sunday line-up in a 13-part show that follows the intricate and emotional journey of sixty-one-year-old entrepreneur and Bishop, Vusi Jabulani “VJ” Xaba and his 22 children (and counting) as they navigate their relationships with each other, their father and his twenty- eight-year-old bride. Set in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Being a Xaba showcases a family determined to come together despite the odds. The show delves into their complicated family dynamics, personal histories and efforts to rebuild fractured relationships.

The family faces the challenges of living in the shadow of a complex and sometimes painful past. The children’s experiences growing up with VJ and varying stepmothers along the way, have left deep emotional scars. However, the show centers on the efforts to repair broken relationships and finding forgiveness. Throughout the series, viewers will see the Xaba family navigate their personal struggles, sibling rivalries and moments of growth. Each cast offers a unique perspective, contributing to the overarching story of a family working towards healing.

Nami Ngikhona – Brand New – from Sunday 16 November at 19:30

When a will of a deceased family member is read, that’s when the real drama begins! Secrets surface, tensions rise, and the truth is laid bare. This reality series, which will be hosted by Kamohelo Bombe, digs into the highly complicated and emotional dynamics that arise when secret ties are revealed, frequently resulting in intense confrontations. Each episode of Namiatgikhona takes a dramatic and confrontational approach, introducing a new claimant which can be a hidden lover, a secret child or a known family member, who arrives to the house of the deceased's recognised family, bravely claiming their share of the inheritance.

More than a material pursuit, the claimants are motived by the need to find closure with any last memory of the deceased, even if it means going after their share of an inheritance. It’s not just about money it’s about legacy, betrayal and healing.

These are not just stories, but they are ‘battles’ for truth and emotional peace you don’t want to miss!
