The title of “host with the most” has been in the capable hands of award-winning TV presenter and podcaster Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco since hosting several Mzansi Magic shows. The former Real Housewives of Durban star stole Mzansi’s hearts on the show. After her departure, viewers were pleased to learn she would become an Mzansi Magic resident.
She is smart, a gentle straight talker, emotionally available to every story, has a great sense of humour, and is an incredible host. All of these traits make it easy to understand why she keeps coming back to serve.
Makoti, Are You The One?
After a hectic season of girlfriends residing with their in-laws to prove they could be perfect wives for their sons, LaConco was entrusted with hosting all the couples for the reunion. Her capabilities came to the forefront and impressed many after seeing how present she was. She nailed her questioning, displayed her listening skills and ability to give everyone a chance to speak, while also holding couples accountable for their actions.
Forever Thina
Speaking of couples, LaConco assisted with guiding families as they found out that their children’s forbidden relationships would not only continue but also end in marriage, with or without their support. This task required a brave host who could hold the couples’ hands but also give the families some grace as they navigated their shock. She did this with impeccable results.
Ingane Yami
We also witnessed LaConco host a reality show dealing with the complex, often tense, introduction of children to new partners. Once again, her warm and reassuring presence gave the guests courage to tell the truth, regardless of the outcomes.
Utatakho
A new hosting gig alert comes to you courtesy of a show that follows the emotional journeys of people raised with uncertainty about their biological fathers. They will be seeking answers, closure and, in some cases, reconciliation.
LaConco has gained recognition for handling sensitive, high-emotion, and confrontational content on Mzansi Magic and she continues to rise to the occasion every time.
Catch her every Monday on #Utatakho at 19:00 on Mzansi Wethu. Join the conversation on Mzansi Wethu social media platforms: Facebook and TikTok.
