The week begins on an emotional note as housemates take to the diary room to unpack the fallout from the Bazozwa twist. Reflections are honest, at times cutting, but largely centred on one common theme: accountability.

Liema describes her return to the house as nostalgic, admitting she is determined to make it past week eight after falling short at that stage in her previous season. She embraces the Bazozwa Boombox, even when it exposes Ashay calling her “lazy” in a conversation initiated by her self-described frenemy, Mmeli. While shocked, she insists she is not in the house to please anyone, acknowledging her flaws but questioning perceived hypocrisy. When Que labels her “dangerous”, she concedes he may not be wrong, hinting that emotions - and perhaps feelings for him - complicate matters.

Que, for his part, says he feels proud of how he is handling himself in a house filled with strong personalities. However, he is visibly shaken by Tumi the Barber’s unexpected eviction, admitting he feels the absence of someone he could converse with and rely on. He stands by his comments about Liema and describes the week as one that exposes those who present “poker faces” publicly but speak differently within their cliques. He also confesses that the letter he received from Liema felt particularly harsh.

Mmeli maintains a pragmatic stance, stating plainly, “A game is a game.” While he regards Ramona as one of the brighter presences in the house, he reiterates that competition comes first. He expresses excitement about the wager and suggests he would have preferred the Boombox to be entirely unfiltered. Having written positive letters to Thandeka, Ilano and Ashay, he suspects that some of the negative letters he received may have come from Liema and Didi.

Ilano reflects on her journey with gratitude, believing the Bazozwa theme aligns closely with who she is. She voices disappointment that some housemates do not take ownership of their words, questioning why anyone would choose to write a deliberately unkind letter. Although she admits she is loud, fittingly so, given the week’s theme- she remains uncertain about claims that certain women are merely tolerating her for convenience. She also expresses regret over remarks she made about King Wanda, despite being unsettled by some of his comments.

Across the board, the prevailing thread is clear: words carry weight. Whether through Boombox recordings or anonymous letters, housemates are confronted with how they speak about, and to- one another. The week forces them to reckon with authenticity, loyalty and the blurred line between gameplay and personal relationships.

After the diaries, the housemates took part in the Chillers Game Show. They competed for R2000 in a high-energy contest that started with a rapid-fire general knowledge round and moved into a lively charades challenge testing creativity and teamwork. In a close finish, Team Caribbean emerged victorious, taking both the cash prize and a case of Chillers Punch.
