TV presenter, digital content creator, and Spills with Biggie host Naledi Mallela (31) says Big Brother Mzansi is unfiltered and raw and that’s why she loves it. “Everything we watch is exactly what we see!” 💯
Mallela sits down with Mzansi Magic so we get to know her a little better. 😍
Mzansi Magic (MM): Let's say you are Big Sister, as the audience suspects, what is one thing you would have the housemates do?
Naledi Mallela (NM): Lmao! 🤣 If I was Big Sister? Honestly? I would send them all to the lounge area and reveal what they have all been saying about each other in their diary sessions and ask them to all speak about it.
Or I would give them an intense bootcamp – LOL. Those who know, know I love gym. 🏃♀️
MM: Spilling tea is kind of what you do on X, what can people expect from your perspective on the Friday shows?
NM: What people can expect is an honest, raw outlook on what viewers currently feel about the housemates, to share what they feel the strategy is in the house, and hopefully to spill some tea courtesy of Biggie!
MM: What do you look forward to the most about Spills with Biggie?
NM: What I look forward to is giving other upcoming creators a platform to share their views on the show, but to also platform upcoming content creators who have been avid fans of the Big Brother franchise as a whole.
I want people to experience laughter, to have their views also expressed through our voices and to imagine Spills with Biggie being a conversation between friends who have different favourites in the house.
MM: You're no stranger to the Biggieverse, what's your favourite version of the franchise and why?
NM: My favourite version would have to be between [Big Brother] Titans and [Big Brother Mzansi season 3] Beke le Beke. Both Khosi and Mpho Wa Badimo won those seasons and ultimately I loved how they played the game and their strategies.
I still think Titans takes the cup for me.
MM: What's your favourite thing about Big Brother?
Unfiltered. Raw. And everything we watch is exactly what we see. I think there is some level of bravado I will give to individuals who chose to actively live with strangers for 72 days. I’m a bit of a neat freak so I would probably have a meltdown in the first week. Haha 😁
MM: What are you currently watching on DStv?
NM: The Real City Makoti and Big Brother Mzansi, of course.
MM: If you could live in any TV show or movie for a week, which one would it be?
NM: Oh that’s quite tough … but it would probably be something like Avatar. I have always been fascinated with the potential of other forms of life beyond our knowledge and how they survive in their own ecosystem. So yes, I would want to be a mythical creature. LMAO. 🤣
MM: Please share a quote that you love.
NM: The stars will always align. 💫 I have it tattooed on my body. 😀
MM: If there was a catastrophe, what is the first thing you would grab and run?
NM: LMAO. It’s a hard pick between my phone and my asthma pump (probably because I’d be in shock from whatever is happening). Oh and my car keys 'cause I would need to run away, right?
MM: If you had to describe yourself as a song or a movie, what would it be?
NM: I would be The Holiday, a movie about love, a movie that makes you feel good, and makes you believe in life’s simple pleasures.
MM: What’s the most unusual food you’ve ever tried?
NM: Truthfully there is nothing I haven’t tried before but I would still say mopane worms take the cup. LOL.
MM: What’s one thing that always makes you laugh no matter what?
NM: A video I have on my phone of my little sister Kganya, bouncing on a balloon. She was about a year or under, and I kept telling her to stop and ultimately the balloon burst and she fell and casually walked on like nothing happened. I still laugh at it till this day.
MM:If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
NM: Local? Queen B for sure. (Bonang)
International? Queen B once again. (Beyoncé in case you missed that) 🎤
MM: What makes you loud and proud?
NM: My unapologetic personality. I have achieved everything I could ever dream of by being loud and unapologetically myself. And this is only the beginning! 🙌
MM: Any last words to add?
NM: Make sure to tune in every Friday at 19:00 only on Mzansi Magic! And thank you to everyone for their support on this journey. 😁
