Somizi Mhlongo has tried his hand at a lot of things, usually with notable success: choreography, acting, singing, radio, writing, TV presenting, reality TV star – he’s been around, to say the least.

His acting credits include  Sarafina and Cry, the Beloved Country. As a TV presenter, he has been the face of shows like V-Entertainment, Reality Check and – yes – Idols SA. He has been behind the choreography of events like Miss South Africa, The South African Music Awards and the FIFA World Cup 2010 opening and closing ceremonies.

A consummate entertainer, Somizi’s contribution to the Idols SA judging panel has been very broad, able to deliver opinions and advice on a wide variety of matters, all of them useful to an aspiring musician.
