The Elangeni flower, Princess Nandi, daughter of Bhebhe, and mother to Shaka. Nandi had to overcome many obstacles and humiliations when Shaka was born and while he grew up. But her unwavering belief in her son is finally rewarded in season 2. Nandi becomes Queen Mother when Shaka ascends the Zulu throne. She is Shaka's strongest ally and advisor, his protector, the fuel to his flame. Having guided her son to greatness, she must now navigate the complexities of court politics to protect Shaka's vision and secure his dream of building the most powerful kingdom. In doing so, she at times has to face opposition and boldly challenges him.
