The Red Telephone stirred tension in the house when Ilano rushed to answer it, convinced she might be lucky enough to receive a food reward like Thandeka. Ilano was instead instructed to invent a fake health story and convince the housemates to participate before the tea bell rang. For this mission, Ilano would be awarded R500 in her Zakhaa Pay wallet if she succeeded. Struggling to understand the task, she asked Big Sister for clarification, but the call had already ended. She hung up the phone, confusion clearly written on her face.
Promptly, Ilano's chances at success went off the rails. For some reason, she asked the housemates if they wanted R3 000 in their Zakhaa Pay wallet. Didi told Liema that Ilano was offering the money and handing out onions. Why? Nobody really knows, least of all Ilano. Trying to figure out the assignment, Didi suggested that maybe Ilano had been instructed to convince people to eat the onions. Liema wondered aloud what would happen if those who ate them were nominated.
Didi asked Ilano how much she would be getting – and if she was the only one to receive the money. Ilano – being in no position to answer anybody's questions about this task – then offered the onions on a tray. Didi said she would only take some because Que was participating; she didn’t think Ilano would put him in the firing line. Frankly, what Ilano would do at this stage is anybody's guess.

King Wanda and The Don dismissed the offer, saying there was no way they would be given R3 000 in Zakhaa Pay. Ilano was clearly pranking the housemates, which convinced Didi and Liema to drop the onions, leaving Ilano frustrated.
Earlier the Red Telephone call had worked in Thandeka’s favour. She was instructed to stand by the storeroom and select three housemates with whom to share a reward. Under the pretence of needing help carrying something, she recruited Mmeli and Ramona. Inside the storeroom, they discovered a box of pizza and celebrated their unexpected treat.
The Red Telephone has clearly brought drama to the house, with many housemates now eagerly waiting for it to ring again. Anticipation is high, and Liema has been sitting close by, hoping to be the next to receive mysterious instructions.
