With Tyron holding the ropes as compere for the night, the Umlilo gang brought their A-game as they took turns showcasing not only their talents but bearing their souls as well, as they shared their emotional life journeys.
All hail the king and queen
At the end of it all, the housemates had to elect the Umlilo king and queen of the week based on their performances of the night, and Siphesihle and Tyrone's stories of triumph against all odds earned them the titles.
Siphesihle showcased her presenting skills and alta ego Roseous paired with her soulful rendition of "Umlilo" while Tyrone shared how he had been subjected to bullying and neglect in the hands of those who should have cared for him. A sentiment that was shared by Savage, who found himself bouncing from one relative to the other growing up.
Life hasn't been easy!
Meanwhile, Muzi-Thembuzi kicked off the performances with his deejaying, dancing and rapping skills while Jojo also showed off her powerful vocal chords after sharing a story of how her comfortable life suddenly changed when her father lost his job.
For Gugu, nothing would've prepared her for losing her three-storey house to finding herself back home in Soweto. However, she had at least built her family a home when the money was flowing.
Bonni Bee and Kay B were in tears as they recited how they had lost loved ones to chronic illness and suffered to make ends meet, respectively. It was a night of inspiration and vulnerability as Mzansi got to learn how Abobo had lost his mother at a young age, leaving him without any cheerleader through all his life successes.
Beekay had lost himself to peer pressure while Philile had undergone and survived heart surgery but that didn't stop her from pursuing her dreams of being a model. As if that was not enough, Uyanda also stepped onto the Arena stage with his own story of hardship and strife, the silver lining being his graduation.
There were also a lot of dance and artistic performances of all forms rendered by
Ash-ley Ogle, Ezra, Luzuko, Mandy Hagan, Mata, Melino, Mshini, Nate, Nsuku, HoH Sweet Guluva and Swiss.
Their flawless execution and dedication earned them their first wager win pegged at 100 per cent but Biggie slashed a whooping 50 per cent for violating the house rules.
Well, a win is a win!
