Was the tragic death of Zanele a simple case of an eye for an eye? Beauty never expected to learn that Zanele could have had a hand in the murder of her only child and daughter, Zama. When she found out that Zanele was capable of hiring hitmen to murder Zama in cold blood at her wedding, she could not forgive. She vowed to her late daughter that Zanele would pay, and that is exactly what happened.

Can we say Beauty murdered Zanele to avenge Zama? It’s tricky, Zanele was in mid-overdose when Judas and Beauty walked in. Judas was ready to save Zanele’s life but Beauty put it to him that Zanele’s death would be the answer to all their problems with Zanele. Judas put up a fight but in the end gave in to his wife. With Zanele gone, it is difficult to know if there was anything anyone could have done to help her; she may have died in hospital. 

Did Zanele deserve to die for what she had done to Zama? It is still unclear whose bullet killed Zama and Lerato. Could it be that Zanele just did not reverse her decision in time?
