Likamva has fallen – Inimba

News03 February 2026
… and he was a real one.
RIP Likamva Mabandla article

Tshepiso Jeme, known to us as Likamva Mabandla, has been portraying an opinionated and passionate son of Hlathi and Thumeka Mabandla. He has made a significant and unforgettable impact on viewers since Inimba premiered on Mzansi Magic.

Jeme is a BA Dramatic Arts (Honours) graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand and has appeared on a couple of productions such as Lena and Nongogo. His portrayal of Likamva on Inimba (Mon – Fri at 21:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161) has however left a mark and made Mzansi fall in love with his craft.

His complex relationship with his father, Hlathi, was deeply rooted in seeking acceptance and approval from him at every turn, to be seen as the perfect son. His father’s tough love approach to parenting resonated with the audience but eluded to a disaster waiting to happen.

Likamva was his mother’s biggest supporter and protector so his father leaving her after 20 years to get back with his ex-wife is where we saw a son’s love come to the front. The audience started showing their adoration because this meant he was staying on Hlathi’s neck.

From telling his father that he ruined his childhood by expecting perfection, to throwing him out of their house after abandoning his family and then seeking forgiveness when the streets didn’t work out. This proved that Thumeka had a real one on her side.

However, a mother and son relationship got shaken by Likamva’s love interest which Thumeka disapproved of. In the midst of trying to resolve this and accept that her son has found love, a dark cloud covered the Mabandlas when Likamva and his girlfriend, Zethu, got involved in a car accident that led to his death.

Unfortunately, days after being announced brain dead, Likamva lost his life and a lasting wave of sadness covered the audience that adored this brave, feisty and unapologetic character.

Mzansi says their goodbyes:

RIP Likamva Mabandla.

The Mabandlas are currently seeking justice for Likamva now that Lwandle Zondo has confessed to being the driver that caused the accident.
