Mi Casa for 8th edition of Koroga Festival

Mi-Casa

The last time i attended a concert by Mi Casa i was not disappointed. In fact i talked about it for a whole week after. So please understand my excitement when i heard they would be the headline act at this month's edition of Capital FM's Koroga Festival.

The festival is a showcase of Kenya’s brilliant and diverse local talent, whilst also attracting leading artists from all over the world through music, fashion, food and arts.

After previous successful performances by international musical sensations like Zimbabwe's Oliver Mtukudzi, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Papa Wemba, Freshlyground, just to mention a few, i guess the majority of Nairobi music enthusiasts have gotten a feel of just how the Koroga team are changing the entertainment scene. And we love it!

Anyway, just to cover the base, Mi Casa is a South African band consisting of three highly talented individuals, who have majorly focused in 'house' genre of music. They are club DJ Dr. Duda, the soulful and exciting guitarist and vocalist J-Something (that's right...) and the trumpeter who adds that extra umph, Mo-T.

Their unique urban jazz sound, coupled with a few elements of house and trance have made them an unstoppable music powerhouse, and Nairobi is ready to welcome them yet again for a musical mash up like no other.

The 5-time South African Music Awards Winners will be joined by Webi, and Suzanna Owiyo at Arboretum Gardens, on Sunday, 23rd of August, 2015. Advance tickets are KSh 1,500 on Ticket SASA and KSh 2,000 at the gate.
