It's been a fantastic year for the Koroga Festival team, who have brought us more than just great music and notable performances. If at all, it's been a memorable experience of some of the most talented and gifted artist line ups to ever grace the Nairobi musical scene. Who's to say we didn't enjoy it?
But just before they bow down to 2015, one more act is sure to end the successful year with a bang. I'm afraid to use the word 'mash up' because it wouldn't do any justice to this month's Koroga line up. So shall we call it the 'epic finale?' Yes, i think i like how that sounds.
Uganda's legendary Dr Jose Chameleone is scheduled to perform in Nairobi on 20th Dec. Now, I've seen this guy perform to a group of around 60 when he was a mentor on the Maisha Superstar show and truth be told his performance gave me some mega goosebumps- it was that good! There is something about Chameleone that no other artist has been able to replicate over the years. Music is his first language. No wonder all his concerts are sold out!
JC will be joined on stage by Kamba heartthrob 'Ken-Wa-Maria' who has managed to capture the love of many while JB Maina will cater to the larger community of 'adu wa nyuba' (did i say that right?). With the heavy guitar action, The Capital FM team affirms that the team will be backed by a 12-person band.
In fact i suggest the Koroga peeps should do a 'tumbukiza' food edition this weekend. It will fit perfectly with the occasion.
To avoid being left out of this magnificent show down, you are urged to get your advance tickets from Ticket SASA for only KSh 2,000. Tickets will also be available at the gate for KSh 2,500. Children under 12 years get in for free.
For your daily dose of East African music, tune into DStv 158 and GOtv 4 every Monday-Friday at 5pm for Wakilisha show
