Utamaduni Day in Kenya celebrates the rich heritage and culture within this amazing country. This year, the day falls on 27 December, right after Boxing Day. With the celebration being right after Christmas, most people are likely to be home recovering from the weekend’s food hangover. Don’t fear though, Maisha Magic East being the leading channel in Kenya, you know for sure they will have you glued to your screen the whole jam packed and proudly Kenyan shows. Here is a list of your favourite Kenyan shows to watch this Utamaduni day:

Pambio Live every Sunday at 2pm

Dunda Mixx every Monday to Wednesday at 11am

Dunda Mixx is a brand-new show in town and brings you an hour of uninterrupted entertainment with brand new music in Kenya and abroad while giving you the background information of each featured artist.

Pete every Monday to Wednesday at 8pm

The telenovela, Pete, follows the life of Chief Funzi who has two sons, Mbura and Jasiri. The sons are in competition to see who will win the chief ring from their father. This show depicts life in Mombasa and a coastal region of Kenya, which highlights the rich culture of the country.

Selina every Monday to Friday at 8:30pm

Selina is by far the most popular show in Kenya, it’s so popular that we discovered earlier this year our own president is quite a fan of the show, just see the viral hashtag #OnaSelina to see yourself! In this telenovela, Selina is on a pursuit to prove her innocence through extreme measures with no time on her side.

Penzi every Monday to Friday at 9pm

Penzi is an intriguing love story between a village boy, Daudi and a girl from abroad, June. They fall in love right after they meet in Daudi’s small fishing village where June and her family were vacationing. Things soon go downhill once the parents learn of their relationship and they disapprove.
