All their gigs for the year had been canceled and they had recently signed two new artists to their music label, Sol Generation. How would their business still thrive amidst the pandemic? This is the dilemma Sauti Sol found themselves in on a recent episode of Sol Family – and they had to make quick decisions.
First, they decided to convert their office in Lavington into living quarters for Sol Generation signees Nviiri and Bensoul so that they could continue making music. However, shortly after the renovations started, things hit a snag and they had to change their plans.
Sol Generation manager Anchie was tasked with finding a house for the boys while they sorted out the issue. She found one in the serene area of Limuru. Sauti Sol on the other hand decided to isolate together in a ranch in Lukenya to focus on their Midnight Train album launch.
Before they could go, they all had to get tested for Corona. Fortunately, they all got a clean bill of health and headed to boot camp. While at the camp, they were treated to sports massages, played soccer, and even got time to celebrate Savara’s birthday. Nviiri and Bensoul later joined them and presented their new songs for review. After getting the nod from Sauti Sol, the signees were signed up for voice lessons and therapy.
As the whole team returned to Nairobi, a surprise awaited them. The house was finally complete! There were smiles of approval and excitement as Max, the interior designer, gave them a tour of the house.
Sol Family airs every Thursday at 7:30 pm only on Maisha Magic East on DStv 158 and GOtv 4.
