The COVID-19 pandemic has affected people socially, economically, physically and spiritually across the globe. Many communities and households have been left with limited resources, whilst others have -been left scraping the bottom of the barrel to sustain themselves-.
In the spirit of kindness and love, the Selina cast and crew recently pooled their resources together -to support a local - project that is run by Mrs. Judy Lamet, under the Kenya Police Service.
In a small gathering, Mrs. Lamet, (Assistant Inspector General of Kenya Police Service in charge of Community Policing, Gender and Child Protection Directorate), received food items from Pascal Tokodi (Nelson), Celestine Gachuhi (Selina), Helen Keli (Patricia) -as well as the show Producer and Co-director Reuben Odanga.
Also in attendance was the Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Service, Mr. Edward Mbugua, CBS, MBS, OGW, NDC (K) who -donated Kshs20,000 cash to support the initiative.
The program has been focused on feeding street children during the COVID-19 pandemic season.
We are proud of the work being done by organisations and individuals such as these-and believe that these are the kinds of stories that enrich our culture and strengthen our bonds as a society.
Selina airs every Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm. Click HERE for more information.
