Maisha Magic fans were thrilled with the return of the second installment of Maisha Mkanda this month. The 13-episode documentary series delves deeper into various hard-hitting social topics.

The new season kicked off with the story of Alika, the “unwanted” twin who suffered horrific abuse at the hands of her own parents. Her abuse came to light after she was enrolled at the same school as Mr. and Mrs. Galloti’s daughter, who would often tell her parents about a girl in her class who always had injuries on her body and would sometimes miss school as a result of this. When the couple reached out to help her, they paid a high price for it and even the justice system could not help Alika. Here’s how the fans reacted to her story:
