Meet the new Reagan Mackenzie — Selina

As of this week, the role of Reagan Makenzie will be played by film, stage and television actor Brian Ogola.

Reagan is Luke and Patricia Makenzie’s eldest son in the hit telenovela, Selina. He plays the role of a charming character with a sharp and sometimes evil mindset. Reagan is married to Zoe, an attractive ‘wannabe’s and social climber.

Ogola is a seasoned, ethereal and risky actor that enjoys healthy living, music and some alone time.

His most recent work is in the movie Lusala produced by One Day Films & Ginger Ink. The film bagged four nominations at the Kalasha International Awards 2019 and is set for an international premiere at The International Film Festival-Rotterdam 2020.

Ogola discovered his passion, love and appreciation for performing arts in high school but began acting professionally in 2012.

His breakout role was in the hit Kenyan television series Jane and Abel produced by Dorothy Ghettuba, where he was cast as the lead. In 2015, he was cast in the movie Kati Kati, a feature film nominated in the 90th Academy Awards (Oscars) in the category ‘Best Foreign Language Film.’

Ogola graciously starred alongside Joyce Maina in the only African short film Neophobia (2017) which was selected for screening at the prestigious 70th Cannes Film Festival in France.

On the theatre stage, Ogola took the city by storm with the play Too Early For Birds, based on odd stories from Kenyan history. Through his art, Brian is committed to projects that spark conversation and shift opinions on vital social issues that affect Kenya-.

He was cast as a lead in the award-winning movie 18HRS-that shone the- spotlight on not only Kenya’s health care system but Africa as a whole. The film won ‘Best Overall Movie in Africa’ at the 6th Annual Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards.

His role in the 2018 film Poacher got him a few nominations at the 2018 Kalasha Awards, one of them being ‘Best Lead Actor’ in a film. The film lenses in on the issue of poaching in Africa. It won ‘Best Short Film’ at the prestigious awards ceremony, amongst other international awards.
