Why are you removing Maisha Magic East channel? 

We continuously review our content line-up and channel selection to improve our entertainment offering for our customers. This process includes ongoing review of the content on our platforms to ensure we are always providing more compelling content offerings for our customers. 

What are you replacing Maisha Magic East with? 

We are removing Maisha Magic East to replace with a new and revamped channel - Maisha Magic Plus - which will offer our DStv subscribers on Premium, Compact Plus and Compact more authentic and compelling local content. 

Will I be able to still watch my favourite shows from MMEast on MMPlus? 

Yes, MMP will simulcast (show the same programmes, at the same time with) Maisha Magic East. Maisha Magic Plus will also have an addition of 3 new local shows: Kovu, Kina and Date My Family. 

What programs can we expect on Maisha Magic Plus? 

The channel will include original productions such as Kina, Kovu and Date My Family as well as shows on Maisha Magic East. The programming line-up includes: 

Telenovela: Selina 

Drama series: Maza, Pete, Kina, Kovu, Tehanani, Monica 

Dramedy: Ma Empress, Anda Kava 

Comedy Shows: Njoro wa Uba, Real Housewives of Kawangware, Hullabaloo, Nyanya Rukia, Varshita, 

Documentary: Maisha Mkanda 

Reality: Date my Family 

Music shows: Turn Up, Pambio, Gani Kali and Dunda Mixx 

Do I need to register to get access to this new channel? 

No, the channel will automatically be available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact customers and will be added to the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) on 23 March 2020. 

Do I need to pay an access fee? 

No. This channel will be available at no extra cost. 

Will I be able to view the channel online via DStv Now? 

Yes – the channel will be available to watch via DStv Now. 

Where can I find the schedule of programmes that will be on this channel?

You can find the schedule on http://maishamagicplus.tv/ under TV Guide as well as on the EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) on your decoder. 

Will the shows be available on Showmax? 

Not as yet. Consideration for this is being made and we will update in due course. You can however watch on the move via the DStv Now App available on Google Playstore and Apple store.
