𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟰 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵. They’ve seen it all: gunshots, stab injuries, motor vehicle trauma, and bodies too decomposed to identify. It’s a thankless job, processing and cleaning the deceased. But in the never-ending cycle of violence in South Africa, it’s the men and women working in state morgues, who provide police with the first clues that help solve heinous crimes and get many victims back to their families for burial.
