Chavon and Graham’s ode to popular fairytale ‘Beauty and The Beast’ was an affair of deserved hits and a couple of misses. Here’s a recap of their Somerset West wedding.
Although the shape and style of bride Chavon’s dress was perfect for her frame, Fashion Basher Bernelee felt it was a little on the underwhelming side, which a wedding dress should never be. Luckily, the groom made up for it with a perfectly-picked period suit, that looked like it had been taken straight out of a story book.
Some of the flowers had Zavion wanting to stab himself in the eye, because who does fake flowers? (we're looking at you bride's hair) However, the overall look of the wedding and reception spaces spoke to the ‘Beauty and The Beast’ wedding theme (which Zavion wasn’t a fan of because “The only theme a wedding should be is…a wedding”). The chequered dance-floor totally stole the show and so did the breathtaking venue itself.
Here's Zavion telling all of us why you should'nt theme a wedding
The buffet was so good even Food Basher Zola couldn’t get enough (and we all know how much Zola *hates * buffets). The star of the show was definitely the crispy-on-the-outside-and-soft-on-the-inside roast potatoes, that had everyone reaching for seconds. The ice cream bar, which was kitted out with all kinds of flavours, shapes and colours proved to be very popular with Chavon and Graham’s guests, both young and old.
Perhaps one of the most disappointing aspects of this wedding was the Entertainment. Although everyone had a nice-enough time dancing the night away, Denise couldn’t help but give our couple a low rating because there was not very much to do at the wedding, except listen to the MC and some of the guests hijack the mic and belt out a few unsolicited tunes.
