This 26-year-old musician thanks Eskom for lighting his musical flame – one night during a power cut, his dad was playing a classical guitar piece in the dark, and it turned out to be his lightbulb moment: he was inspired to start playing guitar. Initially this was alongside his dad in church – his father is a praise and worship leader – and he also began singing a little. Then he won a Theuns Jordaan competition – and R20,000! He credits music with a renewed self-confidence.
