Tye Platinum is 33-years-old and grew up in Ravensmead, Cape Town. Music proved to be a positive outles for him growing up in a neighbourhood were drug abuse and gangsterism were rife. As such his mom was also very supportive of his passion and always came through for events and talent shows. That said, when he graduated from high school and elected to pursue it as a career, she changed her tune. Being a performer proved to be daunting and he struggled with anxiety, even getting panic attacks on stage. That said, he got introduced to Classical after a little research which changed things for the better and his mom has also come around to support his dreams. Rather than fuss about fame, he’d now like touch lives with his craft since music played a profound role in his turnaround.
