First it was all game and fun for the eight couples but it all quickly got real as soon as Power Couple SA host Ryan O’Connor introduced the first challenge.
There were a number of pressure points for the guys; from the realisation that their partners would have to waltz through harbour gunk, to the fear of failure after they had wagered big on them. Also, no one ever wants to be the first to fail so the pressure was certainly on another level.
This being the first challenge, the guys also had no idea of how much a safe wager was or how much the other guys would sacrifice from their virtual wallets. Will my wager make me look stingy? Will my wager translate to ho much I trust and believe in my partner? Could I look stupid for this? The questions must have been racing through their heads but time was also of the essence so decisions had to be made…fast.
The challenges were not the only pressure points for the couples but the general social dynamics as well. Was it safe to stick with the masses or to simply mind your own business? What if the others think you’re too forward or too distant?
It won't be easy
Well, there are no rules on how couples should play their game socially or on how they should wager on the ones they love. At the end of it all only one couple will go all in on love!
