About the show
Returning from a thirteen-month solo mission aboard the space station Seraphim, astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) tries to reconnect with her husband John (Goran Visnjic) and their son Ethan, an artificially intelligent android which John developed. John is the founder of “Humanichs,” a research effort attempting to design androids that will learn like humans learn and behave like humans behave.
Molly is shocked to learn that she is pregnant, despite prior infertility and having just returned from a long solo mission. Upon hearing the news she recalls a mystifying encounter with her deceased boyfriend Marcus during the mission.
Alan Sparks, the director of a privatised space program, tries to quarantine Molly because of her inexplicable pregnancy, but she and her family flee to a remote island.
Ethan experiences startling advancements that he was not programmed to experience, such as dreams.
Molly’s baby is forcibly taken from her, and she sets out to track down the abductors and reunite with her offspring.
Molly comes face-to-face with her offspring and realises they may be the only ones who can stop an impending danger.
