JASON 46 - PLUMBER - This easygoing plumber might look like he doesn’t have a care in the world but don’t be fooled. He’s been through a lot in his time with Sarah, including a misdiagnosis of cancer. But even when doctors told him he had just six months to live he kept on smiling, and it’s this relentless positivity that will stand him in good stead on The Block. A sensitive soul with plenty to say, this father-of-three has the ability to stay grounded when things get tough. But watch out – he doesn’t take criticism well. “He’s a bit of a sook when it comes to that,” says wife Sarah.

SARAH 45 - NURSE - There is no doubt this registered nurse runs a tight ship. But with that comes a soft nurturing side that will melt the toughest of opponents. The straight man to Jason’s joker, Sarah has a work ethic that is unwavering and a keen eye for design, but will unravel when she has to make a decision. She will be the first to tell you to get back to the job at hand, and the first to pat you on the back when you’re done. “I like to be in control and I’m not afraid of hard work,” she insists. Her steely determination masks a softer side. When she’s not at home with her husband and three kids Sarah works as a palliative care nurse. “It really puts my life in perspective,” she says.
