It’s Halloween time, and M-Net Movies is going full tilt on horror. This whole month we’ve got 31 nights of frights waiting to scare you silly. If you’re a true horror fan, join us for chills down your spine every night from 20:00.

Scares come in the form on The Conjuring Universe, as well as The Grudge trilogy. We’ve also got Unsane, which sees acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh go into stalker mode, while comedy actor John Krasinski enters the world of horror, directing A Quiet Place. A sequel is already set for release in 2020.

Speaking of horror sequels, It: Chapter Two has just been released in cinemas, so if you want a refresher (or have yet to watch this clownish Stephen King horror) make sure to catch the first chapter of It this month. We also highly recommend the thrilling delight of the Groundhog Day-like Happy Death Day.

There are also zombies in I Am Legend, creepy dolls in The Boy (and in the Annabelle movies, which form part of The Conjuring Universe) and current horror hero Ari Aster’s feature directorial debut Hereditary. Whatever your phobia (clowns, zombies, toys), pick your poison and be prepared to be afraid. Very afraid.

M-Net Movies Smile
Even though we’ve gone to great lengths to make Halloween extra frightening, we know horrors aren’t for everyone. That’s why we have channel 105. And Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! Is just the thing to set your heart racing in a completely different way, thanks to sunny locations and toe-tapping musical numbers.

M-Net Movies Premiere
If you were a fan of the hit HBO Western TV show Deadwood, make sure you’re watching channel 104. We’re airing Deadwood: The Movie, which was released this year to great acclaim and nominated for eight Emmys. So return to South Dakota for one more drink at the Gem Saloon.

M-Net Movies Action
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is currently in production, which hopefully means it’ll hit cinemas next year. For now, revel in the great chemistry, in the first movie, between Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek.

A new Blade movie is also in the works, with Mahershala Ali cast as the vampire hunter. The character was previously most famously portrayed by Wesley Snipes in a feature film trilogy, and you can catch all three this October on channel 110.

M-Net Movies All Stars
If you need relief from all the action, horror, and drama (and musicals just aren’t your thing), then ride along with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in Ride Along on channel 111.

M-Net Movies Zone
There are a few more tricks and treats in store for Halloween over on channel 139, with Boo! A Madea Halloween, in Tyler Perry’s ninth Madea movie.

We also have plenty to keep you entertained every Sunday night.

M-Net Movies Night Out
Entries for this month’s M-Net Movies Night Out feature, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, are still open (until 13 October). Enter now for a chance to join us at this fantastical sequel that sees the return of Angelina Jolie to the title character.

Comic Con Africa
September was a great month for movies thanks to Comic Con Africa. If you missed out, make a note in your diary now for next year. Check out the awesome cosplay we saw this year, as well as our interview with the star of T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911, Boston Legal, and Star Trek: William Shatner.

William Shatner

Knuckle City
The South African boxing movie which opened at the Durban International Film Festival was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. In more great news, it also became South Africa’s official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film nominations at next year’s Academy Awards.

World Cinema
And on the note of foreign language films, there’s another great line-up (incidentally all from France) waiting for you this month on M-Net channel 101. Check out the titles below:
