He’s punny, funny, and we’re relishing his quips – meet our narrator Warren Robertson!
Warren Robertson, the Love Island SA narrator

Warren Robertson is an award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and host of the podcast The Award Winning Podcast. Which hasn’t won any awards, as far as we can tell, but which is definitely worthy of plaudits!

It features Warren chatting to shit-hot Mzansi comedians like Schalk Bezuidenhout (a Love Island SA fan, his recent Instagram story revealed!), Casper de Vries, Loyiso Gola, and Tumi Morake. Now he’s chatting as ‘the voice’ of our new fave local series!

Since launching his comedic career in 2006 at the legendary Comedy Underground in Melville, he has written and produced three stand-up comedy specials, appeared on Comedy Central, headlined music festival comedy stages, and been nominated as Breakthrough Act of the year 2011 at the Comic's Choice Awards!

His last one man show, D(e)ad Inside – about family, relationships and death 💀 – toured South Africa, had a sold-out a run in London, where Warren has also won numerous international comedy competitions, and performed at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival!

Described as being cynical and ‘stomach-achingly funny’ (Cue, 2012), Warren has made numerous appearances on various TV comedies and panel shows, including Bantu Hour, Point of Order, and The Mayor.

Praise for D(e)ad Inside:

‘It is a show that starts with a raging bang and had me laughing solidly for the first half an hour with clever one-liners, dark stories and a brutally honest assessment of parenthood that clearly struck a chord with the people in the audience with children.’ – The Citizen, 2018

‘Robertson, for all that he regularly plays down his profile and skills (during his set) easily holds his audience’s attention, quickly quelling the odd heckle with an all-too-easy quip.’ – pARTicipate, 2018

Catch him ‘tweeting ‘since 1844 below’ 👇

He’s aided and abetted in the scriptwriting department by Melt Sieberahagen, who also doubles as an comedian, voiceover artist, editor, director and an actor. As well as appearing in numerous TV commercials, he also had a role in sci-fi film District 9!
