Suits S5E7 Review

It finally happened. Harvey and Louis have ultimately come to blows. And, believe it or not, it’s all over a girl.

Well, I suppose it’s actually much more than that. It probably has more to do with the family insecurities both characters feel – Harvey about his mother and Louis about his sister.

But it wasn’t just about Harvey sleeping with Louis’ sister after promising he wouldn’t. These two know exactly how to push each others’ buttons and five years of backbiting and underhanded dealings had built the tension to a point where something had to give. And it did, spectacularly.

The ending to Episode 7 almost completely overshadowed everything that had come before and there was some pretty heavy stuff.

Firstly, Jack Soloff’s connection to Daniel Hardman becomes clear. What isn’t clear just yet is whether Jack is just Hardman’s puppet or whether he is actually his own man, capable of making his own decisions. Time will tell.

Secondly, it was only a matter of time before Mike’s not-so-little secret came back to haunt him once again. Having reluctantly worked on a case with Jack Soloff at Jessica’s bidding, Soloff decides to put Mike’s name forward for junior partner. However, it’s one thing to have a fraud as an associate. It’s quite another to have one as a partner and Jessica is having none of it.

There is certainly trouble brewing in paradise at Pearson Spectre Litt. With Jack’s connection to Hardman still up in the air, Mike having to figure out a way to turn down a junior partner and Havery and Louis at loggerheads, things aren’t looking good as Jessica tries to hold her firm together by the fingertips.
