Good news for fans of M-Net’s popular documentary series My Story is that the show is back with five extra episodes, commencing this Tuesday night, 13 October, at 20:30.
In the next few episodes, viewers will be welcomed into the homes of South African icons such as Riaan Cruywagen, Reuben Riffel and Tim Noakes, as they tell their stories of success as well as opening up candidly about the lowest points in their lives, and how they managed to overcome some incredibly tough obstacles in their journeys.
First up is soccer hero Lucas Radebe. From humble beginnings as one of eight children growing up in a traditional home in Soweto, how did Lucas go from playing for the Diepkloof Wolves Wanderers to being the toast of Leeds United? A beacon of hope for so many South Africans, Lucas put his home country on the map when he was recruited for the Premier League. His life seemed idyllic, but what devastating tragedy eventually propelled him to use his fame to help others?
