Mark your calendars: 15 December brings a new home for action and comedy lovers when M-Net premieres its M-Net Movies BLK All Stars pop-up channel. For 19 days, DStv Channel 111 will bring you action-packed, nail-biting modern movie classics from some of the world’s most-loved leading men.

The channel will be live until 2 January 2023, while the movies will be available on DStv Catch Up from 15 December 2022 until 2 February 2023.

Some of the films to enjoy on the channel include, but are not limited to:

  • Enemy of the State: Directed by Tony Scott and starring award-winning actor Will Smith, a videotape containing footage of congressman Phil Hammersley's murder is planted on a lawyer, Robert Dean. Government operatives, who are trying to retrieve the evidence, target him.
  • Training Day: Detective Alonzo (Denzel Washington), a senior narcotics officer, must train Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) during the course of a day. However, Hoyt learns that Alonzo's methods are not ethical, and he soon realises he is being trapped. The movie won a Best Actor Academy Award for Washington and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Hawke.
  • Deep Blue Sea: A horror film directed by Renny Harlin, it stars Samuel L Jackson, LL Cool J, and Saffron Burrows. Set in an isolated underwater facility, the film follows a team of scientists and their research on mako sharks to help fight Alzheimer’s disease. The situation plunges into chaos when multiple genetically engineered sharks go on a rampage and flood the facility.
  • Rush Hour 3: A buddy cop modern classic starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. In this installment, the undercover detectives head to Paris after an attack on the Chinese ambassador. Reunited, the two must track down a dangerous gang while avoiding ghosts from the past. Described by critics as “highly entertaining”, the film grossed over $250 million at the box office.

M-Net Movies BLK All Stars will be available to all DStv Premium, Compact Plus, and Compact subscribers. For only R99 more per month, DStv Family and DStv Access subscribers can get M-Net Movies 1 and 2, as well as the BLK All Stars pop-up channel as part of their bouquet offering.
