A new group of contestants will stake their claim for the R1 million prize on this week’s episode of My Kitchen Rules SA – starting with husband and wife Tim and Shereez from Gqberha. 

Nervous about being the first duo to cook for a group of people they haven’t met yet – including judges David Higgs and J’Something – the couple aim to share a bit of their favourite family cooking with ‘food besties’ Abraham and Michelle; father and daughter Kirsten and Detlev; lifelong friends Shaeem and Mas-ud and sisters Tšepang and Refilwe.

Along the way, they’ll divide opinions about how a staple food dish should be prepared and almost bring a tear to David’s eye with a dish that takes him straight back to his grandmother’s kitchen.
