How to best enjoy National Movies Day

Have you won yourself some tickets to our National Movies Day events in Cape Town or Joburg? Here's how best to enjoy the event.

If you'll be joining us at either the Johannesburg Zoo or the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town on 31 March for National Movies Day, you may want to take note of the following. If you're not, why not celebrate by taking the day off anyway and catching up on your movie viewing with over 1000 movies available in the MM Collection. We've even got some excuses to give your boss.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Please present identification (Driver license or ID) to redeem your tickets at the registration area.
  • All 4 tickets to the event will only be given to the person who won the tickets.
  • Parking is located at:
    • JHB EVENT - South African National Museum of Military History. (22 Erlswold Way, Randburg) Gates open at 12pm.
    • CT EVENT - Parking will be at the Grand Parade (opposite the Castle of Good Hope) – Cnr Darling St & Castle St, Cape Town. Gates open at 12:30.
  • Movies times are:
    • First movie starts at 13:30 (Animated family film)
    • Second movie starts at 16:00
    • Third movie starts at 19:00
  • Attendees are not allowed to walk around in the zoo after 18:00pm.

DO’s…

  • DO bring a picnic basket.
  • DO bring cash as there will be no ATM’s at the venue.
  • DO enjoy food and beverages from our amazing craft food & beverage trucks located at the event.
  • DO bring sunblock, hats and something to keep you warm in the evening.
  • DO bring a picnic blanket.
  • DO bring low seating chairs as these will be allowed at designated spots at the venue.
  • DO come in time to pick a great picnic spot.
  • DO bring the kids early to avoid missing the first movie which will be an animation.
  • DO visit www.mnet.tv/nationalmovies to check any information about the event.
  • DO follow us on social media to be in the loop about new information about the event (FB – @M-Net | Twitter – @MNetMovies / @MNet | Instagram - @MNettv).
  • DO use the hashtag #NationalMoviesDay to let your friends know where you are and what you're doing.

DON’Ts…

  • DO NOT bring any weapons of any kind to the event.
  • DO NOT bring alcohol of any form to the event.
  • DO NOT bring bottles / glass to the event.
  • DO NOT bring any umbrellas or gazebos.
  • DO NOT MISS OUT!
