Father and daughter duo Kirsten and Detlev look to serve up a symphony of German and Turkish-influenced flavours at Group 2’s penultimate Instant Restaurant this week and hopefully book themselves a spot in the Challenge Round as the contestants’ minds focus on the R1 million prize.

Inspired by Detlev’s mother’s experiences in Turkey and Germany – which informed the title of her autobiography Sauerkraut & Turkish Delight – the duo aims to delight their guests, and the judges, with a menu that doesn’t give too much away at first reading.

J’Something has a chance to practice his German, one contestant questions the competition-worthiness of a course, and another has a rapturous experience with a dish that’s tripped up many an MKRSA cook.
