With this special two week long Pop Up Channel M-Net Movies is treating viewers to all the movies in the epic Star Wars saga. It’s Africa’s first channel dedicated to all things Star Wars.

On Monday, 31 August at 06:00.

Channel 109.

1. Who will have access to the channel?

This channel is dedicated exclusively to DStv Premium viewers across Africa.  

1. Why is not available to DStv customers who don’t subscribe to the Premium package?

The M-Net Movies 109 Star Wars pop up channel is a special treat for our DStv Premium customers. You can upgrade to DStv Premium to enjoy this special channel.

1. Why did Multichoice and M-Net Movies decide to create a special Star Wars Pop Up channel?

Creating a movie channel dedicated to Star Wars is an initiative that Star Wars' fans will enjoy, but we also hope to introduce this iconic programming to a new audience. Pop-up television channels are currently all the rage worldwide and our M-Net Movies Star Wars channel once again shows that we continue to align ourselves with the hottest trends and biggest brands whilst embracing the future of visual entertainment.

1. Is it true that this is the first-ever Multichoice Pop Up channel with international movies only?

We have had pop up channels around certain events, as well as the Holiday pop up channels, which featured a combination of blockbuster series and movies.

The Star Wars Pop Up channel is built around the movies of the popular movie franchise, as well as other programming linked to the movie franchise.

Star Wars: A New Hope

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

Star Wars:  The Phantom Menace

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

1. In what order with the Star Wars movies be screened?

They will be screened in chronological order, based on the year of release.

1. Where can I find the schedule for the Star Wars channel?

You can find it on mnet.tv/starwars as well as on the EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) and at dstv.com/content/Printable-schedules as well as at mnet.tv

1. Will there be repeats?

You can catch the same movie at both 06:00 and 19:30 on the same day and on Sundays the channel will feature all the movies screened during the week.

The second week’s schedule will be a carbon-copy of the first week.

1. Will the movies also be available on DStv Catch-Up? If yes, for how long?

 Some of the content will be available on DStv Catch-Up but the full Catch Up schedule will be confirmed at a later stage.

1. What other Star Wars programming will be on the channel?

A variety of animated features and series as well as documentaries and featurettes.

1. Will there be any fun activities for viewers?

The channel will be a full HD channel with all programming in HD.
