This monthโs M-Net Movies Night Out is all about the action with Angel Has Fallen. Check out a few fast facts about the third instalment in the franchise to get you up to speed or just refresh your memory. If you missed out on tickets to the screening, you can catch the movie in cinemas nationwide from Friday 23 August.
- Itโs the third film in the Fallen franchise. Its predecessors are Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen.
- Morgan Freemanโs character, Allan Trumbull, has gone from Speaker of the House to Vice President to President. He previously played POTUS (President of the United States) in 1998 disaster flick, Deep Impact.
- Gerard Butler returns as US Secret Service agent, Mike Banning.
- Banning and Trumbull are the only returning characters, played by the same actors across all three films. Banningโs wife Leah also returns but is played by Piper Perabo. Radha Mitchell played her in the first two films.
- New cast members include Danny Huston, Nick Nolte, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, and Tim Blake Nelson.
- The first film centred on a terrorist attack on the White House, the second on an attack in London, and the third finds Mike Banning framed for an assassination attempt on POTUS.
- Angel Has Fallen was directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who is also a stunt performer. The first film was directed by Antoine Fuqua, and the second by Babak Najafi.
- Filming took place in England and Bulgaria.
