It is always a bittersweet moment when iconic film stars retire from our screens, we often feel like a chapter of our own lives and life as we know it has come to an end.

Recently Bruce Willis’ family announced that he will be taking a break from the silver-screen due to his health deteriorating. The family indicated that Willis (67) had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder.

According to Mayo Clinic:

“Aphasia is a condition that affects your ability to communicate. It can affect your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language.

Aphasia typically occurs suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumour or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative). The severity of aphasia depends on a number of conditions, including the cause and the extent of the brain damage.

Once the cause has been addressed, the main treatment for aphasia is speech and language therapy.“

Willis’ ex-wife and fellow actor Demi Moore poured her heart regarding the situation on Instagram, also thanking fans for their continued love and support during this trying time

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”

Bruce Willis has given Hollywood and his audience the best in action and entertainment, we hope he recovers soon, surrounded by an abundance of love and support.
