Life’s a beautiful mess, and Transparent does a beautiful job at picking apart the complexities, relationships and self-discovery of transgendered father and husband, Maura Pfefferman. With Season 2 starting on M-Net Edge, we decided to dig up a few gems about the show.

The title is a play on words referring to Maura’s journey, letting the world see who she really is. The title can be further broken down into “Trans”, referring to her transgender; and “parent”, for her role as parent to three children.
The series won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, in 2015.
Transparent is the first show produced by Amazons Studios to win a major award.
In 2015, Jeffrey Tambor dedicated his Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series to the trans community.
Jill Soloway, creator of the series, was inspired by her father’s story of coming out as transgender.
