Carl, a childless widower, gets an idea to rekindle a dream of a trip to the South American wild, which he abandoned at the death of Ellie, his long-time partner. By tying millions of balloons to his home, he takes to the air in an attempt to drift to his destination. To his shock, he finds an uninvited travelling companion.
