Evelyn Salt is suspected by North Korea of being a spy for the United States. When she is released in a prisoner exchange, she admits to her boyfriend that she is indeed a CIA agent. Two years later a Russian counterspy claims that Evelyn is earmarked to assassinate the Russian president.
