John Farley, author of a best-selling book about letting go of the past, violates his own advice when he returns home to accept his community's highest honor. There, he learns, to his horror, that his widowed mother is engaged to his old high school gym teacher, Mr. Woodcock, whose sadistic acts plagued John's youth. Now, abetted by his nerdy old pal Nedderman, John will stop at nothing to derail the relationship.
