Taylor Sheridan brings us another season of the deliciously good Texan drama, Landman. From raw and epic storylines to unforgettable characters, here are the reasons to make it your weekly staple.
The cast
Billy Bob Thornton sold us in season 1, and he's back for more. Then there's the incredible Demi Moore who brings something special to every role she takes on. Moore puts on her big girl Texan boots and takes on a bigger role in season 2. Another great female lead returning is Ali Larter – with more sass and spice on screen. Plus, new cast member, the legendary Sam Elliot, rides on in. Ooh, we cannot wait to see what he does! Andy Garcia surprised fans when he showed up in season 1 as the drug cartel boss Gallino. The character is going to return in season 2. Will he go to war with Tommy or will they form an alliance? The rest of the returning cast are pure gold: Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Michelle Randolph, and James Jordan all wowed us in the first season.
The fights
Nothing like a good ole Texan bar brawl. It's fists out, and someone's bound to get hurt. Then there are the hard-knocking, potty words thrown around. We're looking at you Angela and Tommy. Plus, with Cami playing boss lady, she's up for a fight against anyone, including Tommy!
The scandals
Things will get jucier than a medium-rare Texan steak in the second season, not only with business affairs but also with affairs of the heart. Who will betray whom? Who will fall in love and who will fall out of love? As for double-crossing? Say no more ... Stay tuned!
The twists
Just when you think you've seen it all, bammm! A plot twist hits you straight in the face like a bulldozer, leaving your jaws on the floor.
The dialogue
The dialogue between characters on the show is incredible, and we're often hit with hard words and harsh truths when watching. There's often a sense of "I've been there" when one of the characters is going through something. Let's not forget Tommy's hilarious one-liners that often bring ease when things get a tad bit too heavy.
The emotions
Landman takes you through every single emotion and leaves you feeling like you just climbed off a rollercoatser ride. Everything from anger to jealousy to fear to love. We reckon this season you'll grab the tissues again, as we're sure there are going to be a few tearjerking moments. We're still healing from Monty's emotional death.
The set
The cast and crew did a great job bringing Texas to life on screen. You are transported to the West while watching, and it feels as if you're really in the oil fields or at the bar downing a cold beer with Tommy and Dale.
The fashion
From cowboy hats to cowboy boots to checkered, button-up shirts and faded, worn-out jeans, the fashion on the show is fantastic. Our favourites are Angela's outfits, perfectly worn by the gorgeous Ali Larter. The wardrobe department did a stellar job in keeping that Wild West style with a modern day touch.
