They're so good at putting baddies behind bars! Here's our pick of top TV crime fighters over the years.
Jake Peralta – Brooklyn Nine-Nine
There's no Brooklyn Nine-Nine without Jake Peralta. Sarcastic, silly, and a seriously funny detective, Jake is never afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to cleaning up the law. He always knows how to get the job done, even if it's in the most unconventional ways!Â
Richard Castle – Castle
A brilliant crime author and criminal consultant, Nathan Fillion brought to life the incredible Castle. His expertise and great thinking often helped the police force bring down the most elite criminals. Fillion has a flair for playing great cops and you can watch him as John Nolan on The Rookie on Thursdays at 19:10 on M-Net City.
Olivia Benson – Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Mariska Hargitay has graced our screens for more than 20 years as the driven, empathetic, and super-smart detective Olivia Benson. She has a big heart and her cases with the SVU often hit close to home, as a former victim herself. She is fierce and looks perpetrators straight in the eye, showing them she never backs down. There is no one quite like her. Catch Captain Benson on Law and Order: SVU on Wednesdays at 21:40 on Universal Channel.
Elliot Stabler – Law and Order: Organized Crime
Benson's loyal partner, friend, and confidant, Stabler is as great a cop as Benson. We love his straight-shooting mouth and his incredible detective skills, even if they are questionable at times. When the duo parted ways after twelve seasons, SVU fans all over the world were gutted. But Stabler made a return and is ready to dig deep into the criminal minds on Law and Order: Organized Crime. Watch him in action on Wednesdays at 21:30 on M-Net 101.

Master Chief Jason Hayes – SEAL Team
Tough, no-nonsense, and commanding the best from his elite team, Chief Hayes is one brilliant leader. Bravo never fails a mission under his leadership and is always able to execute it with excellence. Watch SEAL Team season 4 on Mondays at 19:30 on M-Net City.
Adrian Monk – Monk
A monk amongst men! Living with obsessive-compulsive disorder Adrian Monk left no stone unturned when it came to his gruesome homicide cases. Driven by his wife's unsolved murder, Monk took on cases with one thing on his mind: victory. The was a method to his madness and we loved every minute of it.
Thomus Magnum. – Magnum, P.I.
Ladies, eat your hearts out: it's Tom Selleck, the Hawaiian-shirt-wearing P.I. who was a heartthrob for mums in the '80s. A former Navy SEAL, Magnum's superb P.I. skills earned him a badge in our books as a man who solved many cases with flair and ease.Â
The third season of the rebooted Magnum P.I., starring Jay Hernandez as the title character, is coming soon to M-Net.
Jessica Fletcher – Murder, She Wrote
Jessica Fletcher did a way better job than most of the cops on Murder, She Wrote so she deserves a spot on our list! Her curiosity and passion for crimes and cases were most admirable. Let's not forget the way she pieced together everything so meticulously, in true Jessica Fletcher style. Murder she did write and murder she did solve.Â
